"From Portscatho harbour, way out on the blue..."
Welcome to the official website of Cornish singers Du Hag Owr, the Portscatho shantymen.
This group of six jolly crewmates sing traditional sea shanties, songs of the sea and write their own material too!
The lads have sung at many events and venues from charity fundraisers and festivals to pubs, clubs and more! They also wrote and performed the soundtrack to "Oyster Gatherers Then And Now", a film that was featured in the 2010 Cornwall Film Festival!"
NEWS HEADLINES
***** NEW CD ALBUM FOR 2012! *****
Announcing the arrival of our new CD!
The new album is called "Carrick Roads" and contains some of our favourite traditional shanties as well as new, original material from the DU HAG OWR crew.
The title track is an instrumental piece which transports you to the Fal estuary and evokes thoughts of quiet, lazy summer days sailing along on the calm waters of this beautiful Cornish river.
The album also contains a host of toe-tappers, drinking songs and maybe, one or two that may bring a tear to the eye.
