*** NEW CD Carrick Roads NEW CD ***
Du Hag Owr are proud to present their second CD album, Carrick Roads, a collection of traditional sea songs, shanties and original music written, arranged and performed by Du Hag Owr.
The title track, a DHO original, was used as part of the score for a short film, "Oyster Gatherers Then And Now", and truly captures the essence of travelling along the quiet creeks and waterways of the beautiful Fal estuary.
Jack Handy tells the jaunty story of a hard drinking, salty old sailor and his life, both ashore and at sea.
The Seaman is a sad tale which looks at the tragic demise of a seaman from his perspective and that of the family he leaves behind, whilst Pump is a rather raucous and irreverant look at the crew of a fishing boat who find they have sprung a leak far from shore... how will they get home?
Mix in some old, traditional favourites and you have an album you could listen to again and again and again...
The album will be available from Thursday, February 9th, 2012.
